Shanell Rene’e has been singing since the age of eight while living in York, Pennsylvania. Upon reaching age 15, she was discovered singing at a NAACP fundraiser and the York Dispatch did an exclusive interview with Shanell that was run in the Sunday paper. From that point on, Shanell began performing professionally throughout the remainder of her high school career.
At the age of 19, she moved to NYC where she was the lead vocalist for the band InFLOWential, a guest singer in the James Gerard Orchestra based in Philadelphia, a featured singer on the Trans Phatt Records compilation album based in California, and the youngest member and only female vocalist of AboutRhythm (the 9 member band led by reknowned saxophone player/producer Teo “Teodross” Avery, who has worked with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Destiny’s Child, Shakira, Mos Def, Aretha Franklin and many many more.
Shanell is a recent graduate of New York University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Technology, and continues to work as a songwriter, composer and performer. She gains her inspiration from love, art, and music.
