Shaneisha Dodson was born in Arkansas and currently resides in Texas. She holds a B.A, in psychology from Grambling State University, M.A. in counseling from Dallas Baptist University, and an Ed.S in education from Walden University. Dodson is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. She has been featured in numerous print and online magazines. Some of her accolades include: 2016 Black Women Are (Inspirational) Award Nominee, 2015 Best Playwright, 2015 Extraordinary Person Honoree, 2014 celebrated during Women’s History Month, 2013 Confident Woman award nominee, Who’s Who of small business by Career magazine, ranked in the top 15 books for young adults, 2011 literary excellence award winner, and 2011 African American literary award nominee.
In 2012, she took her love of the arts to the next level and started Black Girlz Productions, LLC. Her company’s motto is “Dream BIG or go Home!” Currently, Dodson is touring with her second production I’ll Be Single Before I Settle. This is an awesome production that brings awareness to HIV/Domestic Violence.
Her latest novel is Faux Happiness. The book centers on the life of Laura M. Smith. She is born into one of the wealthiest families in the South, but learns that money can’t protect her from the malicious ways of the world. After experiencing a traumatic event, her life quickly spirals out of control. When she finally starts to see the light, she meets a young pastor, Mr. Chris Wadeson. He is appealing to the eyes and has all the qualities that she desires in a husband. After he makes her an honest woman, she has to decide if she is going to do what’s right for her or what’s right for her family.
